It’s March and cabin fever is setting in up here in the north eastern USA. We’ve had few days of above average temps, warm enough to cause ice and snow melt and bring on that unmistakable smell of spring to the air but the pandemic lock-down is still a real thing and we’re all tired of it.
Allow me to give you a bit of hope. The vernal equinox is Mar. 20 and that happens to coincide with our biggest production yet – Celtic Equinox! This show is a joint benefit for Cabot Arts (Cabot, VT USA) and Féile na Tána (Carlingford, Co. Louth IRE). Over 20 musicians on both sides of the Atlantic are participating in this year’s event (normally put on by Cabot Arts as an annual fundraiser). In addition to the selection of prerecorded video performances, there are workshops you can attend (separate registration) from the same musicians!
We’re also working with a few new organizations that will be bringing yet more diverse and interesting shows. Young Tradition Vermont and CommArts will be piloting a new series of interview/performances with talented youth in the trad world. There’s also a lecture series coming from Vermont Academy of Choral Music featuring some well known names in the choral music world. Plus we’ll be showcasing some young talent from the northeast kingdom of Vermont called the Kingdom All Stars.
Stay tuned. More music and interesting shows to come.
CommArts is a platform to publish and monetize benefit concerts, workshops, and festivals (prerecorded and livestream). Our focus is to bring community organizations, performers, and audiences together to achieve a common goal: financial support of the organizations and arts that support and enrich our communities.
